Wisdom Bite #10 – The Peace of God

One of the most interesting books that I’ve ever come across (and I’ve read a lot of books) is called A Course in Miracles. As a frequenter of the ‘World Religions’ and ‘Spirituality’ sections of book stores and libraries, I’d seen the book many times and even tried to read parts of it. ┬áThe wording proved to be an obstacle for me and I never made it past a couple of pages

That all changed with a book called Disappearance of the Universe. Reading it, unlocked some of the key concepts from A Course in Miracles and inspired me to read it and apply it to my daily life.

For today’s Wisdom Bite, I want to share the introduction from the book.

Introduction from A Course In Miracles
This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught.
It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.
This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.

Read that last statement again and let it ‘soak in.’ If you haven’t done so already, I can highly recommend that you read the book Disappearance of the Universe.
